Fuel Leak

Part Number unknown Cost £70
This problem occurred the day I bought the car. Which was very annoying as I did check the fuel tank when viewing the car.

When I got the car it had about a 3rd of a tank of fuel. On the way home I filled it completely up, when I got the car home & parked up I noticed it was leaking fuel from around the sender unit. The car was parked on a slight incline, so I turned the car around so the front was point up hill & this stopped the leak. While I was looking at the leak I noticed that the contacts on the sender were very corroded &  while I was pushing the wires aside they snapped off.

I did cheat (wimp out) on this one & took it to a local MG specialist (hence the price)
I had a new Sender unit & lock ring & seal fitted, the parts were £20 the rest was labour.
